Aromatica Rice Pudding

Chinese five-spice powder and grated tangerine peel are the secret ingredients that make this rice pudding unforgettable.

Directions

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the rice and oil. Cook, stirring, for about 5 minutes, or until glossy. Stir in the water, tangerine or orange peel, and five-spice powder. Bring to a boil. Reduce the heat so the mixture simmers. Cover and cook for 20 minutes.

Stir in the milk, dates, and figs. Cook over low heat for about 5 minutes, stirring often, until the mixture is thick and creamy. Serve warm, sprinkled with the ginger, pine nuts, and cinnamon to taste.
